In light of the law changes from 1 October 2021, Natasha’s Law, it is vital for catering businesses to make sure their teams are fully knowledgeable, so training and educating staff is a must!
Not only does it empower your teams, it sends a message to your customers that you have their best interests at heart and are doing everything to ensure that those who do suffer from hypersensitivity to food have a great experience at your establishment and feel inclusive and not excluded.
Here at CaterCloud we are constantly thriving to learn and make sure we have the correct expertise at hand to help and guide our clients with any issues they encounter, which is why the CaterCloud team are all fully trained to Level 3 in Allergen Awareness.
CaterCloud worked closely with Jacqui McPeake, also known as ‘The Allergy Lady ’, on all training in relation to allergens, and Jacqui ensures that the training sessions are interesting, relevant and above all makes them memorable.
Jacqui uses her extensive career working in the hospitality industry and her own practical experience managing her own daughter’s allergies, to provide practical and informative training to improve allergen awareness and encourage a positive allergen culture in your workplace.
Jacqui includes group exercises (Covid permitting) and uses ‘Play Doh’ which helps provide a visual reminder of how easy it can be to cross contaminate foods in a busy kitchen.
“What’s in the Pots” was another popular group exercise pre-covid and the CaterCloud and e-f group team got to really show their competitive nature!
Many of Jacqui’s delegates remember her training and the key messages she delivers in an innovative way.
A recent delegate provided the following feedback: “I thought this course was going to be boring in parts, it was interesting, and I really enjoyed it; it wasn’t boring at all “
